Tetanus is a serious disease that is caused by bacteria. The bacteria typically affect the body’s nerves and muscles. When the bacteria enter into the body, they produce neurotoxins that travel in the whole body via lymph system and the bloodstream. The bacteria spreads in the whole body, therefore it affects with the normal functioning of the body. Basically, there are four types of tetanus-generalized tetanus, neonatal tetanus, local tetanus and cephalic tetanus. Out of them, generalized tetanus is the most common one. The disease is common in developing and less developing countries where tetanus vaccinations are not yet arrived.
